Vehicle Donation for Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County
Through a strategic partnership with Volunteers of America Western Washington, Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County (DVS) is now accepting vehicle donations. VOA of Western Washington takes care of all of the paperwork and any towing (if needed) of your vehicle. The proceeds of the vehicle donation are then split between the two organizations. 50% of your vehicle donation goes to DVS and the other 50% goes to Volunteers of America. Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County – An agency working within the community to create an environment which is safe, responsive and supportive of domestic abuse victims and their children and fosters individual dignity, respect, hope and self-determination.
Your donation to DVS will support essential programs and services, which are provided to clients free of charge:
Emergency Shelter
DVS provides temporary shelter in a confidential location for victims of domestic violence and their children. These services include:
- Food and clothing
- Counseling, support groups, and domestic violence education
- Information and referral
- Children’s counseling and support
Transitional Housing
DVS leases 20 apartment units where families may reside for up to two years. Transitional residents are provided:
- Sliding scale rents
- Case management
- Support groups
- Children’s counseling and support
- Information and referrals to needed services
Legal Advocacy
- Legal information and education
- Referral for legal representation
- Assistance with protection orders
- Criminal processes
- Civil processes
- Other legal issues
Community Support Groups
Support groups are available for those who are or have been physically or emotionally abused.
Community Education
Speakers, trainings, and workshops are available.
The 50% of your vehicle donation that goes toward VOA Western Washington goes toward:
- Basic Needs Services – housing, emergency items, life skills classes.
- Food Bank Services
- 2-1-1 Community Information and Referral
- Disability Services
- Dispute Resolution Services
- Emergency Mental Health Services
- Family and Childrens Services
- Housing to Seniors and Veterans
- Senior Companion Program
